Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are growing up far from their royal cousins, and royal experts say the distance may have lasting emotional consequences.

The ongoing feud between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family shows no signs of easing and it’s Archie and Lilibet who may ultimately feel the deepest heartbreak.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that King Charles likely finds it painful that he’s missing out on seeing his youngest grandchildren grow up.

"He always loved Harry, he called him 'darling boy'," Bond said. "And I’m sure he still does love Harry and would love even more to be able to spend time with Archie and Lilibet."

As King Charles battles cancer, Bond added that the emotional toll of family estrangement likely weighs even heavier.

"Charles is a sentimental man and a doting grandfather to George, Charlotte, and Louis. I’m sure he thinks more about the great loss of not being able to spend time with Harry’s children," she said.

Even more heartbreaking, Bond claims, is the growing distance between Archie and Lilibet and their royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

"I always imagined Harry and William remaining close and enjoying watching their children grow up together," Bond reflected. "But there is absolutely no sign of the cousins ever getting to know one another."

"He has chosen a different life in a different country — and that looks as if it is where he will stay."
