Dove Cameron reveals movie that boosted her career

Dove Cameron, who is known for her role in Disney’s Liv and Maddie, opened up about the movie that helped her grown personally and professionally.

The 29-year-old reminisced about the first three Descendants films that have specifically played an important part in her career development.

The singer shared with PEOPLE that the experience of shooting the Disney Originals was unmatched as it “always felt like summer camp because we went away to do training for a month before filming started.”

Dove recalled the pleasant days when the cast was “all so young” and they “made these very close friendships and bonds.”

The Boyfriend singer expressed that the feeling was truly “magical and it felt untouched” which “can’t ever be replicated.”

However, the musical fantasy did not only gift her relationships that she will always cherish, but also uplifted her as an artist.

The 2015 fantasy series, which came out a decade ago, trained the Sand hitmaker “to be an incredibly hard worker because those films… even though they’re children’s films… they were so hard to make.”

Although the motion picture was incredibly difficult to film, the Daytime Emmy Award winner admitted that the young ensemble was “safe” being “surrounded by people who wanted us to win.”

Talking about the present, the songstress provided a valuable insight for her fans by stressing that they need to “find themselves” and “feel self-expressed.”
