Tyla slams fans for comparing her to Britney Spears

South African singer Tyla performed at the Coachella weekend wearing an outfit that sparked discussions on its similarity and inspirations.

The Water singer wore a green cropped top and denim shorts with green feathers and tassels, and completed the look with knee-high boots.

The singer looked bold as she performed her songs sending the crowd wild, however her look’s similarity to an iconic pop look was much talked about.

The outfit looked similar to pop princess Britney Spears’ iconic 2001 MTV VMA’s look when she performed I’m a Slave 4 U wearing a similar green top and blue shorts as she famously carried a yellow snake on stage while she performed, making it one of the most iconic performances of the century.

Fan were quick to spot the similarity as they started drawing comparisons on social media.

“Tyla’s outfit for Coachella is inspired by the icon Britney Spears”, a fan wrote on X, to which Tyla responded saying “Love her but i just thought the outfit was fly...no inspo”.

“Your stylist was definitely Britney inspired lol.” a fan replied to her denial comment.

Another commentator called Tyla “copycat” who is “too full of herself”.

Tyla slammed back at the user saying “Personally I think you should stfu.”

A the 23-year-old continued to deny the inspiration comments, the fans continued to draw comparisons.
