Looks like Sean Kingston is finally going to jail after being taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service.
The rapper and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of wire fraud charges last month by a South Florida federal jury.
Prosecutors alleged that Kingston used his celebrity status to scam high-end jewellers, electronics suppliers and car dealers.
The 35-year-old and his mama allegedly stole over $1 million worth of luxury items and sent fake wire transfer receipts as payment for goods like a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade and a 232-inch LED TV.
The pair were convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud each.
Kingston and Turner were released on $100K bond but in an April 10 court hearing, Kingston’s attorneys disclosed to the judge that the artist had failed to pay the required amount.
The mother-son duo faces up to 20 years behind bars and is now waiting for their scheduled sentencing on July 11.
Born in Miami and raised in Jamaica, Sean Kingston signed with Beluga Heights Records in 2007, who released his debut single Beautiful Girls.
The song was also the lead in Kingston’s first album and topped the Billboard Hot 100, with the album reaching sixth on the Billboard 200 chart.
