Meghan Markle is making headlines once again — but this time, it’s not for jam or royal drama.
The Duchess of Sussex just received a surprising show of support from Spotify, the very company that ended its multimillion-dollar deal with her and Prince Harry less than a year ago.
The unexpected move comes just days before the launch of Meghan’s brand-new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, which drops on April 8.
In a twist no one saw coming, Spotify — yes, the same platform that once hosted Archetypes and later parted ways with the Sussexes amid controversy — is now plugging Meghan’s new show, despite it not being a Spotify original.
The platform posted the trailer with the caption: "Join Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to hear the unfiltered stories behind the successes of notable female founders. The show launches April 8th, wherever you get your podcasts. Hit subscribe now so you never miss an episode!"
The gesture has been dubbed a “rare olive branch” after what many called a “brutal” breakup between the Sussexes and the streamer.
With Confessions of a Female Founder set to debut via Lemonada Media, Meghan appears to be in full comeback mode — and Spotify’s shoutout is being seen as a quiet endorsement.
In the trailer, Meghan says: "I'm Meghan, and this is Confessions of a Female Founder, a show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned and the laser focus that got them to where they are today.”
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that the Spotify nod marks a clear change in tone: “The fact that Spotify are plugging it is very clearly an olive branch — and a success for the Sussexes."
For the unversed, Meghan and Harry signed a reported £18 million deal with Spotify in 2020, but only delivered one series — Archetypes.
The deal ended in 2023, with Spotify exec Bill Simmons later slamming them as “[expletive] grifters” on his own podcast, sending shockwaves through the industry.
