In the forthcoming memoir of Elizabeth Anne, The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road, Tom Hanks’ daughter opens up about the struggles of her adolescence amid her parents’ split.
According to People, Elizabeth included, “I am a kid from the First (non-famous) Marriage.”
“My only memories of my parents in the same place at the same time are Colin’s high school graduation, then my high school graduation,” she continued.
In 1987, the Anchorage star's parents parted ways after 5 years of marriage.
After divorcing Samantha in 1988, the Cast Away actor married Rita Wilson.
“And during summers, but from 5 to 14, years filled with confusion, violence, deprivation, and love, I was a Sacramento girl,” Elizabeth said.
Elizabeth recalled repeated visits to her father’s home during her summer breaks and weekends.
The Forrest Gump star thought her mother was a bipolar disorder patient, although she was never diagnosed with the condition.
