Blackpink's Lisa was apparently asked to hide her vocals while she was a trainee
An old clip from K-pop group 2NE1 member Dara has resurfaced on the internet during the survival show, Under 15 where she can be seen evaluating one of the contestants' performance.
She revealed that Blackpink’s Lisa had been stopped from showing her singing talent while she was a trainee at YG Entertainment, which has left fans fuming.
Speaking fondly of her talent, she claimed that Lisa was asked to turn off her mic during performances so her “powerful vocals” wouldn’t overshadow the other trainees.
Comparing her to the contestant, Dara stated, “It feels exactly like watching Lisa back then.”
The video was especially triggering for the singer’s fans as she recently has faced accusations of having weak vocals and lip syncing.
Blaming the agency for mismanagement, one user wrote, “That company tried everything to push her back, and yet you see dumb blinks like villainpinks saying that she should go back to YG.”
While another said that they “initially laughed when Dara said #LISA was told not to turn her mike on,” expressing their disbelief at the agency.\
