Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi bid farewell to the United States after selling their California home.
The 1,691-square-foot Spanish bungalow in Montecito was listed for a hefty price of $5.2 million due to its “spa-like” bathrooms, complete with a private courtyard, terrace and an enclosed patio.
This came after news of the pair’s move to Europe had been confirmed in November of 2024, with the two buying an $18 million house in the United Kingdom.
The 67-year-old has reportedly embraced a quiet life in the British countryside after she and Portia were also spotted enjoying a live music session at a pub near the Cotswolds.
The purchase of the fabulous property is not unusual for Ellen, who has previously owned multiple luxurious homes in the US, building a prominent real estate portfolio.
Notably, the renowned comedian last made headlines when her Daytime Emmy-winning program The Ellen DeGeneres Show was accused of having a toxic work environment by employees.
The testimonies of the workers were disclosed in a report published by Buzzfeed, after which the show’s parent company WarnerMedia began an internal investigation into the allegations.
This eventually led to the firing of top producers and the cancellation of the beloved show in 2022.
