Meghan Markle’s latest social media post has sparked major skepticism, with critics accusing her of staging a sweet family moment for show.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram Stories on Monday, sharing a video of herself preparing homemade St. Patrick’s Day waffles for her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice a major discrepancy—leading to accusations that Meghan faked the entire thing.
In the clip, Meghan is seen mixing a green waffle batter before pouring it into a Cuisinart Waring Pro Belgian Waffle Maker, an appliance known for its distinctive ridged pattern that sections waffles into four quadrants.
However, when she plated the finished waffles, they appeared flat and smooth, lacking the grooves the waffle maker should have left behind.
"For the kids…" she captioned the photo, showing the green waffle topped with kiwi, blueberries, and whipped cream.
The inconsistencies did not go unnoticed, sparking widespread speculation across social media.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) called out the duchess, writing: "Meghan Markle’s relentless compulsion to lie about everything is baffling—even over something as trivial as a waffle. She posted a video of herself using a waffle maker with a divider, yet the so-called ‘homemade’ waffle she presented looked exactly like a store-bought one, missing the dividers that should have been there."
Another user chimed in: "Wouldn’t be surprising at all! The effort she puts into staging even the simplest things is almost impressive. Imagine going through all that just to fake a waffle—it’s like she can’t help herself."
A third person claimed Meghan simply repackaged frozen waffles, pointing to a striking resemblance between her creation and Kellogg’s green apple Dragon Waffles.
"She didn’t freshly make them for her kids. She used these frozen waffles. Why the big deal? Because her post is showing she made it all from scratch. She is a total manipulative liar. About everything," they wrote.
Another critic summed up the sentiment, adding: "I immediately saw the difference when I watched the video. I couldn’t grasp the reason to lie about waffles. What kind of person needs to do that? Meghan Markle is a walking scam."
