Julia Stiles was casted as the main lead in 2000 romcom Down To You. “The script was very good. And then Harvey Weinstein got his hands on it”, said the actress in an episode of Brett Goldstein’s podcast Films to be Buried With.
“Because of the success of Save the Last Dance, or the success of 10 things I Hate About You, with me dancing on the pool table, he needed to have me dancing in the film.” stated Stiles on Weinstein’s demand for her to dance.
The 43-year-old opened up about how uncomfortable she felt doing the scene, “I felt so slimy doing it the whole time.”
