Meghan Markle’s passion for cooking may have come under scrutiny after the release of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, but a resurfaced video is proving that her love for food is nothing new.

A throwback clip shows the Duchess of Sussex, 43, taste-testing dishes on Haylie Duff’s cooking show, Real Girl’s Kitchen, back when she was still an actor on Suits.

In the video, Meghan—who had not yet met Prince Harry—enthusiastically tried a whisky sour pickle and raved about it, saying: "That’s really good!"

Following the resurfacing of this clip, fans have taken to social media to defend Meghan’s credibility as a food lover, arguing that her passion for cooking is genuine and not just for show.

"Yet again more proof of Meghan’s consistency in her brand. Meg's not new to this!" one fan commented.

"This was the first thing I thought of when I saw her show!" another added.

The positive response comes amid criticism from Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, who blasted his daughter’s Netflix series in an interview with The Mail.

"Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions. I know when she's faking it for the cameras," he claimed.

"She's trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her," he added.

What is Meghan Markle's show 'With Love, Meghan' about?

Meghan’s show features her "reimagining the genre of lifestyle programming” along with her celebrity friends as they roll “up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.

The series is part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The eight-part lifestyle series will mark Meghan’s return to her roots, featuring hosting and entertaining tips while welcoming celebrity friends on the show.
