Blake Lively made her first public appearance at the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special on Sunday, marking a rare outing since she filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment.
Now, a body language expert has broken down her demeanour at the star-studded event, suggesting that while she appeared confident, there were signs of nervousness beneath the surface.
Speaking to Page Six, Judi James shared that the Gossip Girl star displayed “signs of stoicism”, but also exuded confidence and defiance.
“She placed one hand on her waist, splaying her elbow out, while also throwing her head back in a projected mode, which signals a level of assurance,” the expert explained.
However, James pointed out that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, initially had "forced smiles", possibly indicating some discomfort.
“Ryan quickly turned to whisper in Blake’s ear, which served multiple purposes. The 'I’ve got a secret' pose suggests closeness and even flirting. It also helped lighten the mood, making Blake laugh. He followed it up with an eyebrow flash gesture, which is a popular and positive tie-sign," James added.
Lively and Reynolds’ appearance at the event was seen as a statement, as the couple faces public scrutiny amid the ongoing legal battle with Baldoni.
