Meghan Markle may not have been in Canada for the final moments of the 2025 Invictus Games, but that didn’t stop her from celebrating Prince Harry from afar.
From their LA home, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram Stories on Sunday, February 16, to share a sweet tribute to her husband after he received a standing ovation at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
“So proud of you!” she wrote over a clip of Harry seated among the crowd as applause filled the venue.
The applause came after a speech by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with The Mirror reporting that "around 12,000" people were in attendance.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, delivered a moving address to mark the end of the nine-day competition, acknowledging the resilience of the wounded servicemen and women who took part.
“To those of you whose journey to these Games has been difficult and uncertain … thank you for showing us what is possible,” he told the crowd. “In the pursuit of saving yourselves, you have also saved all of us.”
While Meghan’s post gave the impression she was in the audience, she had actually left Canada two days earlier to return home to California and care for the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
The emotional closing ceremony featured performances from Jelly Roll and The War and Treaty, ensuring the Games ended on a high note.
Founded by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games continue to honor and uplift injured and wounded servicemen and women worldwide.
