Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s film It Ends With Us may have received plenty of praise, but it didn’t impress everyone—especially filmmaker Judd Apatow.
While hosting the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards on Saturday night, the 57-year-old director took a jab at the ongoing legal battle between Baldoni and Lively, saying: “So much hazarai over such a terrible movie.”
Apatow didn’t stop there. He took another shot at the Gossip Girl actress while joking about the box office success of Wicked: “Usually to make that much money, you have to sue Blake Lively.”
Both remarks sparked roaring laughter from the audience.
But Lively and Baldoni weren’t Apatow’s only targets. He also poked fun at Kevin Costner and his ambitious Horizon film series, quipping:
“Imagine being Kevin Costner’s kids and realizing you don’t get a trust fund, but you do get to watch Horizon one and two whenever you like.”
Even Emilia Pérez, the Oscar-nominated film, wasn’t spared: “Hollywood hasn’t had a new idea in decades, and then suddenly we cram all of them into one [expletive] movie.”
