Ariana Grande has revealed that she struggles to remember certain years of her past, admitting she might have lost memories from a specific period in her life.
During an episode of the SmartLess podcast, the Wicked star opened up about her fuzzy recollection of past events after Will Arnett brought up an old memory.
Arnett recalled that he and Grande had appeared on the UK talk show Chatty Man nearly 10 years ago, only for Grande to have no memory of it.
"I'm missing a couple of years. I'm super serious from that time. I'm literally missing a few years,” she admitted.
Arnett jokingly called her forgetfulness “disgraceful” before quickly adding, "No, you were great."
Grande also reminisced about being just 19 years old when she released her debut album Yours Truly and how she never expected the overwhelming response to her music.
"I just never expected it to kind of take over the way that it sort of did in a beautiful way. There was no way to prepare for that."
The pop superstar, who originally saw herself as a Broadway performer, admitted that music completely took over her life, in ways she hadn’t anticipated.
"I am a theater nerd through and through. And, you know, this very insane journey with music kind of took over my life for a very long time. It was extraordinary but very challenging."
Grande reflected on her early dreams in theater, revealing she once hoped to be an understudy for a Broadway revival while keeping music as a side passion.
"I was kind of like, ‘How cool? I get to be a part of the theater community. I can't wait to be the understudy for Thoroughly Modern Millie and maybe be in the ensemble on the days when I'm not being the swing.’"
