Prince Harry’s concerns about security risks for Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, continue to grow even years after their move to the United States, according to former royal butler Paul Burrell.

In a report by GB News, Burrell revealed that the Duke of Sussex remains deeply concerned about the safety of his family, citing the threat of kidnapping plots as a major worry.

"Being a member of the Royal Family is a threat. The threat is huge," Burrell explained, referencing an assassination attempt on Prince Charles in 1994 in Australia as an example of the dangers royals face.

He further added: "I think Harry is more worried about his wife and his kids and the risk of kidnapping plots. Also, the more he engages in public life as a celebrity, the more he could become a target."

Burrell emphasized that security is a major part of the royal household, granted automatically when someone becomes engaged to a royal family member. He recalled witnessing similar security measures when Prince William got engaged to Kate Middleton.

Having served as Princess Diana’s butler for 10 years, Burrell has firsthand experience with royal security concerns, especially given Diana’s own struggles with privacy and safety before her tragic passing in 1997.

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's high-profile status, the security of their family remains a top priority, further fueling the Duke’s long-standing legal battles over protective measures.
