Priyanka Chopra, an Indian-American actress, is set to be on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK's March issue, for which she also sat down for an interview.
She opened up about her marriage with her husband, singer Nick Jonas with whom she proudly parents their three year old daughter, Malti.
"I wouldn’t have married [Nick] if he didn’t tick all the right boxes. You have to look for someone who respects you. Respect is different from love and affection … You’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs until you find your prince,” the actress explained.
Revealing previously that she had been making many of the same mistakes before meeting and marrying him in 2018, she added, "A lot of the pattern in my relationships was me feeling gaslit because I gave that kind of power to the people that I was with, where I was like, 'You come first,'”
The pair first met when Jonas reached out to her on X, formerly known as Twitter, with her having been moving towards the end of a "tumultuous relationship". She added that she "didn't want to engage as much at the time."
"I was also like 35, Nick was 25. I really put a stop to it in a way because I judged the book by the cover. I said, 'I wanna settle down. I have been there and done the fun dating things.’ I was like, ready to get serious,” Chopra elaborated.
However, after meeting a few times and being spotted on dates, their engagement was confirmed in 2018.
