Jennifer Lopez revealed that her doubts about starring in the This Is Me…Now: A Love Story were swayed away by Ben Affleck.

Recently, the project’s director, Dave Meyer, and Lopez, 54, candidly opened up about their new collaboration in a press conference held on Thursday.

People reported that during the conference, the Marry Me star revealed how Affleck, 51, pushed her to showcase her acting chops in the latest venture and get it done.

"I was like, 'I don’t write, I don’t do this.' He was like, 'You do, you write, you direct, you produce, you choreograph, you do all the things,'" Lopez, who claimed that the new musical is her real-life story, said.

"Start stepping into that, start owning a little bit of who you are," the Shotgun Wedding actress recalled her husband helping her quash doubts during production.

This shows that despite their flickering relationship over the past two decades, the two are still headed strongly in love and support for each other whenever one needs it.

Lopez and the Hypnotic star first dated each other for two years in the early 2000s, notably, the two called it quit just days before their wedding in 2004.

However, their love bloomed again, and the couple ended up exchanging vows in 2022 after rekindling their romance in 2021.

Additionally, the director noted that their renewed burgeoning romance inspired much of the original’s direction.

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is a visual reimagining of the events that inspired Lopez’s upcoming album This Is Me…Now, serving as a sequel to her 2002 album This Is Me…Then.

The star-studded cameos in the original include Affleck, Sofia Vergara, Keke Palmer, Post Malone, Fat Joe, and Trevor Noah.
