Prince William expressed his gratitude towards the well-wishers for the support he and his family basked in following King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis and his wife Kate Midleton's major abdominal surgery.

"I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and my father, especially in recent days," he said on Wednesday at London’s Ambulance Charity gala.

"It means a great deal to us," the Prince of Wales added as per a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The future king, seemingly in good spirits, also quipped on the recent hospital visits, saying, "It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather medical focus, so I thought I’d come to an Air Ambulance function to get away from it all."

William’s brief remarks came just two days after Buckingham Palace publicly shared the news of his majesty’s illness, which was discovered following his treatment due to an enlarged prostate.

On Monday, the Palace took to social media to announce the recent illness diagnosis.

"During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted; subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," the statement began.

"His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual," the statement noted.

The illness diagnosis came after King Charles was discharged from the same hospital, in which the Princess of Wales was admitted, three days after his surgery.
