Miley Cyrus’ mother details pre-divorce ‘scary psychological breakdown’

Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish Cyrus is happy now, following a terrifying journey amid her divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus.

During an interview with PEOPLE, the Nashville native opened up on her divorce decision and how she coped with the emotional breakdown in the midst of her April 2022 split from estranged husband.

"I’m over 50, I’ll be 57 this year. And when I literally was going through my divorce and trying to make that decision of stepping out of a 30-year marriage, I was terrified mostly," Tish, 56, recalled, adding that women over a certain age can find love again.

The Flowers hitmaker's manager went on to spill the beans on her emotional state at that time, "I thought I was going to be alone forever. And that was one of the times that I had the crippling breakdown of anxiety."

"I joke about it and say I had a complete psychological breakdown. There were 30 days where I was not eating sleeping, just felt like I was just coming out of my skin. And it was really scary," the American producer elaborated.

Tish and Billy Ray, 62, exchanged vows in 1993 and welcomed three kids, Miley, Braison, and Noah.

The Some Gave All crooner also adopted Tish’s children, Brandi and Trace, whom she had from her previous relationship.

Following her split from the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker, Tish has since tied the knot with Dominic Purcell.

The twosome made their relationship public in November 2022 and got engaged the next year in April.

"We are so happy," Tish updated on her relationship with the Prison Break actor.
