Gayle King wishes Oprah Winfrey on 70th birthday with special video

Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 70th birthday, and her close friend Gayle King marked the occasion in style.

To honor the birthday of the renowned host of The Oprah Winfrey Show, King, 69, shared an adorable video on Instagram on Monday, January 29.

In the video, Winfrey is seen having a story time with King's grandson during their last holiday getaway.

The co-host of CBS Mornings began the birthday caption with warmth, saying, "Happy to say at 70 @oprah is still a very good reader!"

She went on to recount that moment, "While Favorite grandson Luca is too young to understand how special this moment was during Christmas vacation, it’s not lost on me."

The American TV personality went on to share Winfrey’s preferences for an ideal birthday, "When asked how she wanted to spend her birthday, she said, 'No gifts, no parties, no surprises!'"

"Her preference was to sit by the fire with a good book and savor the fragrance of her life! Happy birthday Oprah!!," King, who has been friends with Winfrey for more than four decades, concluded the playful and sweet message.

Under King’s post, many other fans and fellows rallied to wish the birthday girl, while also pointing to her "quiet time" demand.

One fan gushed over the OWN Mogul, "She doesn't even look 50! Happy birthday Oprah.....you are the very essence of a Phenomenal human."

"Auntie O was ready for the quiet time laughing emoji," another fan added jokingly.

The third user wrote, "Imagine your earliest memories being of Aunty O reading to you, cozy on a couch [three red heart emojis]"

In addition to that, an official Instagram account of Oprah's Book Club also dropped a comment, saying, "No one better to read to Luca than the biggest bookworm herself. [two orange heart emojis]"
