Halle Bailey breaks silence on ‘hiding pregnancy’ accusations

Halle Bailey has responded to critics who accused her of keeping her pregnancy a ‘secret’.

The 23-year-old actress, who recently welcomed her first baby with rapper DDG, took to her X account and addressed several users' claims in which they said that she had ‘lied’ about her pregnancy.

One X user wrote, “I don’t think people are mad she hid her pregnancy. People are more annoyed that she went out of her way to lie and gaslight about it. Then, she shaded people and called them desperate. Now, she wants those same 'desperate' people to know every little detail.”

Defending herself, The Little Mermaid star replied, "I never lied or even said anything about it, honey. Making a joke about my nose was the furthest I went."

"I’ll never understand why you are mad I protected my own peace. Wouldn’t you do the same? And I’m going to share my pics now if I want to because my son is here safely. If you don’t want to see it, just keep scrolling, baby. Lol. God bless you!" Halle added.

Another user penned, “Halle, baby. Kill it. You didn’t tell us about the baby then. You didn’t speak then. Don’t speak now and leave us out of the conversation. Enjoy your jit in peace. We don’t care.”

The singer quickly responded, “if u don’t care why are u responding then sweetheart just don’t care by living ur best life and not commenting on mine.”

For those unversed, Halle announced the arrival of her son, Halo, on Instagram on January 6, 2024.

"Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son,” she wrote alongside a photo of the newborn’s hand, wearing a bracelet.

"Welcome to the world, my Halo. The world is desperate to know you,” she added.
