Bryan Cranston recently opened up on his villainous portrayal of a character named Ritter in upcoming film Argylle.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE published on Thursday, Jan. 25, the star expressed his enjoyment in bringing the character to life.
"I enjoy being a villain. It’s so much fun. It’s just so much fun to be able to determine the fate of someone else’s world and life," the Your Honor actor shared with the outlet at the London premiere of his latest film.
He added, "It’s like you know, I thought I liked you but I don’t, you’re gone! And when I say gone, I mean gone."
Being part of a star-studded movie featuring Dua Lipa, John Cena, Henry Cavill, Ariana DeBose, and Samuel L. Jackson, Cranston, 67, credited director Matthew Vaughn for getting him on board.
"He’s crazy, in a wonderful way, and audacious and bold and he never plays it safe and I like that kind of filmmaking," he continued, "I like taking chances."
The Breaking Bad alum further praised the essence of Argylle, describing it as, "This is big, broad, have fun, laugh, be silly. It was so much fun to shoot and it’s even more fun to watch."
The actor, who plans to take a year off from his acting career in 2026, shared the driving force behind his decision.
The Godzilla actor mentioned that he has been working nonstop for two decades and five years expressing his desire for more real-life experiences he said, "I want to slow it down."
"I want to travel, I want to feel it," Cranston added, highlighting the need for a break from the industry.
