Travis Kelce spills on navigating criticism on public romance with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce revealed how his romance with Taylor Swift continued to bloom amid all the intense scrutiny due to their highly publicized romance.

Speaking at a Kansas City Chiefs press conference on Friday, Jan. 26, the tight end addressed questions regarding his growing fame and attention on his love life over the past year, as reported by PEOPLE.

"I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building," Kelce told reporters during the presser.

When asked directly if he has talked about the privacy issues with the Blank Space hit maker, the two-time Super Bowl champion emphasized, "As long as we’re happy, we can't listen to anything that's outside noise," Kelce affirmed, "That's all that matters."

Referring to the scrutiny he underwent as he was criticized for having a very public romance during busy NFL season, Kelce, 34, expressed difficulty in "dealing with everyone else’s perspective of things.”

"You hear the media throughout the year if we’re not having success, you know, maybe throw it out there that I wasn't focused or that the team isn’t focused on certain things, and if you're in this building, you know exactly what’s going on," the NFL star explained.

He emphasized the importance of filtering out negativity and maintaining focus within the team, "You gotta compartmentalize what you're hearing and make sure that you're staying on task."

The rumors about the Midnight songstress and Kelce's relationship initially surfaced when she was spotted at one of his games in September 2023.

However, Swift later revealed during Person of the Year interview with Time Magazine that they had been seeing each other after Kelce mentioned her on the New Heights Podcast for the first time.
