Cillian Murphy has reacted to his first Oscar nomination for the blockbuster Oppenheimer.
As the Oscar 2024 nominations were announced on Tuesday, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer garnered around 13 nominations with Murphy in the best actor category.
The Red Lights actor sat in an interview with The New York Times and shared his first Oscar nomination experience.
“It’s very, very humbling. I’m kind of a little in shock. It’s just a real honour to be involved in a film that has connected so powerfully with people in a way that we never expected,” said Murphy.
To note, the film grossed over $900million at the box office.
Murphy has been winning immense love and praise for his role in the movie. Alongside Murphy, other nominees include Bradley Cooper for Maestro, Colman Domingo for Rustin, Paul Giamatti for The Holdovers, and Jeffrey Wright for American Fiction.
