Cher paid a heartfelt tribute to the 1987 film Moonstruck director, Norman Jewison, following his demise at the age of 97.
Taking her grief on social media, the Goddes of Pop began, "Farewell Sweet Prince [crown emoji]. Thank U For One Of The Greatest, Happiest, Most Fun Experiences Of My Life."
The Academy Award winner for Best Actress for her performance in the 1987 film Moonstruck penned on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Without U, I Would Not Have My Beautiful Golden Man. Norman U Made Moonstruck The GREAT FILM Ppl [blue heart emoji]"
"Script, Actors, Etc, NEEDED U DEAR [red heart emoji]," she added, concluding the post in block letters, "NORMAN JEWISON LIVES ON THROUGH HIS WORK."
In the comments section, many fans flocked to mourn the death of Jewison.
One user wrote, "A beautiful tribute to Norman Jewison, a true cinematic legend. His contribution to the film industry, especially with "Moonstruck," has left an indelible mark."
Cher’s memorial post comes on Tuesday after Jewison’s publicist Jeff Sanderson confirmed the Heat of the Night director’s death to PEOPLE on Monday.
The legendary director passed away on Saturday, January 20, and is survived by his wife Lynne St. David, adult kids, Michael and Jenny, and grandchildren, Ella, Megan, Alexandra, Sam, and Henry.
This is not the first time Cher has mourned the death of her Moonstruck co-stars, previously she has paid tributes to Olympia Dukakis, who played the role of her mother in the movie, after she died in 2021.
Moreover, she also remembered her onscreen estranged fiancee, the role played by Danny Aiello, after he passed away in December 2019.
The two played newly engaged couple Loretta Castorini and Johnny Cammareri. Later in the movie, Loretta finds herself falling for Cammareri’s brother Ronny.
