Kate Middleton did not fly to Scotland when Queen Elizabeth II was on her deathbed, and now the reason for her absence has been unveiled in a new book.

Royal biographer, Robert Hardman, in an excerpt from his upcoming book, The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, slated to launch on January 18, shed light on the instances surrounding the Queen’s death.

The Daily Mail’s royal expert, in his forthcoming book, revealed that when doctors expressed concerns about the Queen’s health, royal family members rushed to be by her side, including Prince William.

However, the Princess of Wales stayed with her three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The author explained that on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s demise on September 8, 2022, her great-grandchildren were scheduled to attend their new school, Lambrook.

It was the beginning of a new semester at their new school and their mother wanted at least one of their parents to be by their side on that important day, as per the excerpt.

However, in 2022, reports emerged that Meghan Markle had been requested to stay behind while Prince Harry was called to be with the queen in the last hours of her life.

At that time, it was perceived that Princess Kate had also been excluded for similar reasons. However, it has now been clarified that, unlike the Duchess of Sussex, it was Kate’s own decision to stay back.

Moreover, her absence has been used to "pacify" the Duke of Sussex who reportedly "raged" at King Charles when his Majesty asked him to come sans his wife.
