Nicole Kidman has admitted that she was ‘emotionally struggling’ with her divorce from Tom Cruise when she won her first Oscar.
The 56-year-old actress, who took home the first Academy Award in 2003 for Best Actress for her matchless performance in The Hours, revealed that she didn't celebrate her big win.
“I was struggling with things in my personal life, yet my professional life was going so well,” Nicole said during her conversation with author Dave Karger for his new book '50 Oscar Nights.'
She further stated, "I went home and ended up ordering takeout, eating it on the floor of the Beverly Hills Hotel."
"I sat on the floor of the hotel, eating French fries and a burger with my family, and went to bed. That’s when it hit me. I thought, 'I need to find my love; I need love in my life. Because this is supposed to be when you go, 'This is ours,'" the Aquaman actress added.
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, who share two children together, daughter Isabella, 31, and son Connor, 28, parted ways in 2001.
