Halle Bailey, DDG's bitter-sweet relationship timeline

Halle Bailey and Darryl Dwayne Grandberry Jr, who goes by the name DDG, recently announced the arrival of their first baby together via an Instagram post.

The two have been together for over a year and have entered parenthood with the birth of their son Halo.

January 2022

The two were first linked after an Usher concert when the footage of them went viral on Twitter. Later, the Yeah! Hitmaker fueled the rumours after he shared photos with the new couple in which DDG, 26, rested his arm on 23-year-old Bailey’s shoulder.

June 2022

The two made their relationship official when they graced the BET awards by walking on the red carpet for the first time as a couple.

August 2022

The YouTube star and his girlfriend attended the Variety Power of Young Hollywood event held at Hollywood together.

October 2022

The loved-up couple attended the 5th annual Wearable Art Gala.

November 2022

In an interview with Essence, the Ungodly Hour singer confessed that she had been a fan of DDG for a long time.

"I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them," she said.

December 2022

The musician joined Bailey at the premiere of Avatar 2: The Way of Water.

February 2023

In February 2023, the couple entered a rough patch after DDG’s ex-girlfriend Rubi Rose tweeted that her ex's new girlfriend wore her old clothes.

Although she didn’t mention him or Bailey by names fans were quick to note that the latter did wear a shirt that Rose had donned in 2020 and speculated that he had been cheating on Bailey with Rose.

He fueled the rumors by unfollowing Bailey and posting a text, "All these girls the same, ain’t no way."

He later cleared the air by saying no cheating had been done and re-followed her. As for the Cool People vocalist’s part in a since deleted post the she wrote, "The devil is working lol Please don’t feel into the lies, especially from a third party. Stay blessed everyone."

March 2023

The two attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party side by side in Los Angeles.

July 2023

On July 14, DDG garnered backlash on his new song Famous as it appeared that he took a dig at his girlfriend’s press tour for her role as Ariel in the Little Mermaid.

She held hands with co-star Jonah Hauer-King in May at the London premiere of their movie.

The lyrics read, "Filmin' a movie now you kissing dudes" the lyrics go, "Why is y'all holdin' hands in the photo? / You know I'm insecure, that's a no-no."

At one point the lyrics read, "Hardest thing I did was fall in love with a famous b****."

September 2023

Months after the Famous song, the pair attended the The Love album listening party in NYC.Tthey also appeared at several fashion shows during Milan’s Fashion Week.

October 2023

Rumors kicked off about the couple disguising a pregnancy while making public appearances with customised tailored clothing to hide her baby bump.

December 2023

For Christmas DDG got Bailey a lot of expensive gifts and claimed that he has "spent $500,000 on Christmas."

The gifts included a pair of Balenciaga snow boots and pants, an Hermès Birkin bag, and a yellow gold Tiffany & Co. hard wear bracelet.

The Do It songstress gifted her boyfriend a pair of two-carat diamond stud earrings.

Bailey shared an adorable photo of her son Halo on her Instagram on January 6 and revealed that the couple had already welcomed him in 2023.
