Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka called it quits after being together for seven years due to their varying goals for future.
According to Page Six, the couple, who have the age gap of 14 years, desire different things at the current point of their life that resulted in their breakup.
“He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at,” the source revealed.
The 54-year-old songstress is a mother to 11-year-old twin daughters, Monroe and Morrocan, whom she shares with former husband Nick Cannon.
Meanwhile, Tanaka does not have any children of his own.
The estranged couple initially sparked rumors of split after the Fantasy crooner jetted off on a solo holiday trip to Aspen, Colorado to celebrate the festive season.
Tanaka was also notably absent from Carey's Merry Christmas One and All! tour earlier this year.
In fact, the couple hadn't been spotted together since March, when they celebrated the singer's birthday celebrations.
At the time, the Obsessed crooner preferred the celebrations to be referred to as an 'anniversary,' as Tanaka shared a photo of himself and Carey with a wide grin while embracing each other.
He took to Instagram to post the loved filled snapshot with a sweet text that read, "This is one of my favorite pictures. Ever. Happy Anniversary my Beautiful Queen. [emoji] 3/27[emojis]".
