Kelly Clarkson serenades with 'This Christmas' cover

Kelly Clarkson exuded festive vibes during the opening of her Kelly Clarkson Show with a classic Christmas song.

The 41-year-old American Idol winner opted to sing Donny Hathaways’s This Christmas on Wednesday, December 20, for the 'Kellyoke' segment of the show.

For the night she went for a dazzling look that consisted of a sparkling black mini dress paired with matching tights and completed her look with a red lip tint.

The stunning songstress commenced her singing segment with This Christmas rendition and serenaded the opening lines, "Hang all the mistletoe/ I’m gonna get to know you better/ This Christmas".

For her performance on Donny Hathaways’s song she also garnered appreciation from fans.

One noted, "All these beautiful Christmas songs are magical during this time of year @kellyclarkson loving how much you enjoy singing them and me just listening like don't end yet, but you do. Never gets old Awesome always!"

Another fan remarked with a series of emojis, "Absolutely beautiful".

Clarkson’s This Christmas rendition comes a day after she performed the DJ Play a Christmas song by Cher.

Shortly after the show posted snippets from the night on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were quick to compare her vocals with the original singer and praised Clarkson, 41.

A fan claiming to be unbiased wrote, "you made me hear the song, see the song, more clearly than @cher. Nobody can do it like @cher, but nobody can display a song better than u[sic]".

A second user remarked, "Cher's is fab, but I like the less auto tuned version Kelly does here. She can literally sing anything, and that's why she can't get people to sing with her".
