Brooklyn Nine Nine co-stars penned heartfelt tributes for Andre Braugher, who succumbed following a brief illness at the age of 61.
Shortly after his death was confirmed by several outlets on Tuesday, December 12, his castmates from the Fox/NBC’s cop comedy series took to social media to remember their time with Captain Raymond Holt.
Terry Crews in utter shock began his caption, “Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent”.
The 55-year-old TV host and actor, who portrayed Lieutenant Terry Jeffords in the American series, extended his condolences to Braugher’s family and concluded his Instagram caption, “Rest In Peace, Andre. I love you, man [sad and heart emoji]”.
Meanwhile, Joe Lo Truglio who played the character of Charles Boyle reflect on the “powerful actor” as a family man in his lengthy Instagram tribute, “So many wonderful stories will be told about Andre but for now, all my love goes to his wife Ami and his three boys, who he loved very much and flew back every weekend from the show to be with”.
After revealing that Braugher “could sing to” Truglio, 53, he ended his caption saying, “What an honor to work with a man who knew what it was really all about. I feel blessed and thankful. Miss you Capt Holt. Love, Porkchop[broken heart emoji]”.
In an Instagram post Joel McKinnon Miller wrote, “An actor prepares… Sending love to Andre’s family and friends and all of us who had the honor of working with him. #brooklyn99”.
The 63-year-old actor played the role of Detective Norm Scully in the American comedy series.
Captain Holt’s “sidekick” also took to Instagram to share her grief saying, “Forever lucky to have gone on such a journey with you. Ringside seat. You were so funny to me…I will always cherish our conversations”.
After sharing she’ll miss Braugher’s “dulcet tones” Chelsea Peretti concluded her caption, “Is it weird that I am also grieving for what Captain Holt meant to Gina? I really hoped and knew I would see you again. Hate that I won’t [broken heart emoji]”.
Noticeably, Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, the frontrunners of the series, have yet to share any tribute for the late Captain.
