Brian Wilson remembered his longtime friend and studio musician Jeffrey Foskett following his death on Monday, December 11.

The Beach Boys bass guitarist took to his Instagram handle to pay a heartfelt tribute for his beloved friend.

He penned the caption, "I’m so heartbroken that my dear friend Jeff Foskett has passed. Jeff was always there for me when we toured and we couldn’t have done it without him."

He went on to reflect on Foskett's "great musical" journey saying, "Jeff was one of the most talented guys I ever knew. He was a great musical leader and guitarist and he could sing like an angel."

The 81-year-old musician recalled, "I first met Jeff in 1976 when he knocked on my door in Bel Air and I invited him in, and we were friends ever since."

With a grieving heart he concluded the caption, "I don’t know what else to say. Love and Mercy to Jeff’s family and friends, we will remember him forever."

His daughter Carnie Wilson consoled her father in the comments writing, "I know it hurts Daddy. We will miss him. I love you [red heart emoji]"

According to Variety, Foskett passed away at the age of 67 after losing his life to anaplastic thyroid cancer.

His time in the touring band, led by both Wilson and Mike Love, spanned over four decades and he was deemed as the “vice principal of the Beach Boys” by its core members.

The record producer, who was also a singer-songwriter, joined Wilson’s solo band in 1998 and accompanied him till 2014.

He was in Love’s Beach Boys for a long period before and after joining Wilson’s band.

He traveled with the 82-year-old Love from 1981 to 1998 and following a hiatus over ten years he rejoined his band in 2015 until 2019.
