Tatum O’Neal remembered late father Ryan O’Neal following his death at the age of 82.
According to PEOPLE, the 60-year-old daughter of the Love Story star shared to the outlet, “I feel great sorrow with my father’s passing.”
She continued, “He meant the world to me. I loved him very much and know he loved me too.”
The youngest Academy award winner concluded her statement, “I'll miss him forever and I feel very lucky that we ended on such good terms."
The Little Darlings actress' statement comes after her brother, Patrick O’Neal announced the death of father via Instagram post on Friday, December 8.
He penned a heartwarming tribute for the “Hollywood Legend” and shared that his father “passed away peacefully.”
He wrote in a lengthy caption about how much he loved his father adding, “My father Ryan O’Neal has always been my hero. I looked up to him and he was always bigger than life.”
As for the father-daughter relationship, Tatum celebrated the Main Event actor’s 82nd birthday earlier this year with an adorable instagram picture.
She posted a photo featuring her father and herself sitting beside him while holding on to the little furry pal.
The actress captioned the post that read, “Happy Birthday dad I love you.”
The daughter also starred along with her father in 1973’s Paper Moon, for which she was awarded an Oscar in the category for the Best Supporting Actress.
With the Oscar that she earned at just ten years of age, she became the youngest person to win the coveted trophy.
Ryan O’Neal was a father of four children; he shares Tatum and Griffin O’Neal with Joanna Moore; son Patrick with Leigh Taylor-Young, and another son Redmond James Fawcett O'Neal, whom he shared with Farrah Fawcett.
