Dancing with the Stars alum Mark Ballas and his wife BC Jean are over the moon on the arrival of their first baby.
The professional ballroom dancer announced the good news via an Instagram post on Tuesday, December 5.
The caption read, “Welcome to Earth my son,” he also revealed the name of the little bundle of joy, adding, “Banski Wylde Ballas [sparkling emoji] Joined us earthside 11-5-23”
The brief and sweet caption was accompanied by an adorable snapshot of the family-of-three.
Jean was holding the new baby’s little hand while Ballas nestled his hand in his palm.
Ballas, 37, and Jean, 36, first crossed paths “at a singer-songwriter night at a mutual friend’s house,” she shared to Riff Magazine.
“It was kind of like a fun party night where singers and musicians would get up and perform,” the For Anybody Wondering songstress added.
Later that night, the two exchanged numbers after the event and eventually started dating in 2012.
After four years of dating, Ballas, an actor, choreographer and singer-songwriter announced the pair's engagement in January 2016 and the duo exchanged vows in November.
Born as Brittany Jean Carlson, widely known by her stage name BC Jean is an American singer-songwriter.
She is widely acclaimed for writing and singing If I Were a Boy, which later, garnered commercial success after Beyonce sang the song.
Jean also performs with husband as Alexander Jean and the duo released a single, Rainbow, in 2023 in a nod to their pregnancy loss they experienced in 2022.
They announced the single with a heartfelt message, “We lost a baby last year.”
“Just when we thought we were in a good place to tell friends + family we received the heavy news that our little one wasn't going to make it,” they wrote in a social media post.
The couple noted that they’ve been through hard things but the pregnancy loss “was a different kind of sadness.”
They dedicated the song to “anyone that has experienced loss in any form” and hoped it brings “some kind of peace & reminds you that a rainbow isn’t far behind.”
