Omid Scobie seemed to be in hot waters as his bombshell memoir’s publication has been halted.
The book caused a stir among the royal fold when the royal member who had “concerns” about the skin color of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son was named in the Dutch version.
Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival by Omid hit the shelves on Tuesday, November 28.
The publishers, Xander, confirmed they have received a request from the US to instantly cease the sale on Omid Scobie's biography in Holland.
Xander said in a statement: “[We are] temporarily withdrawing the book by Omid Scobie from sale. An error occurred in the Dutch translation and is currently being rectified.”
According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for the publishing house said, “I can’t talk about the details.”
“We have, however, received a request to put the title on hold, and that is what we have done,” they stated.
The rep added, “ we are awaiting further instructions, I do not know how long this will be.”
Meanwhile the co-author of Finding Freedom told the RTL Boulevard, “The book is in several languages, and unfortunately I do not speak Dutch.”
He referred to the identity reveal as “translation errors” eventually be corrected by the publisher.
The royal author steered clear of the situation, saying, “I wrote the English version. There was no version from me in which names were mentioned.”
Nonetheless, as per the outlet, the identity of the royal seems to have been disclosed in a page sent to the Dutch, extracted from the advance review copy of the book.
The final and the latest edition of the book covered the State of the British Monarchy following Queen Elizabath II’s death. The author, often referred to as the mouthpiece of Harry and Meghan, has made several striking revelations in this writing venture.
