Teri Copley addressed the accusations made by John Stamos and it appeared that their love story remained incomplete because of his mother.
After John’s memoir, If You Have Told Me, hit the shelves last month, the actress, felt the need to clear herself and noted that it was not Stamos who was betrayed but her.
In a 19 minute-long YouTube video, the actress, known for her role on the American NBC television series, We Got It Made shared the two were not in a relationship when Stamos, 60, saw her with Tony Danza as she had already broken up from him days ago.
She claimed after "waiting and waiting," eight months into relationship Stamos told her he loved her and few months after she got a call from his mother which altered her perspective on their relationship significantly.
“Teri, I know that you love John, but don’t plan on marrying him because he has no intention of marrying you,” she recalled Johns Mother's, Loretta Philips, words.
The model assumed that the General Hospital alum shared his “intention” with his mother and she is just trying to “protect” her.
As a result Teri, 62, went to his home and broke up with him.
“It was my fault. I was young. I didn’t know how to communicate with him to tell him, you know, your mother told me you didn’t ever want to marry me,” she admitted humbly.
Copley went on to say, “We never discussed marriage and I wasn’t, you know, secure enough [or] strong enough to say that to him. So I just left it like that. I left him like that.”
That’s when Tony Danza came into the picture.
“Three or four days later," Copley said she saw Danza, 72, on the cover of a magazine that read, “Teri Copley was the only girl that he’d ever loved”
The Redeemed actress said she then called Who’s the Boss? alum and invited him to her house.
Shortly after, the Emmy award nominee showed up at her door and "none of that happened," they way Stamos has written in his memoir.
