Burt Young, widely recognized for his role of Paulie Pennino in the Rocky series, starring Sylvester Stallone has passed away at the age of 83.
The actor succumbed to death earlier this month on October 8 in Los Angeles.
His daughter, Anne Morea confirmed her father’s death to the New York Times, not disclosing the exact cause of his demise.
Upon hearing the news of his Rocky co-star’s death, Stallone took to his Instagram official account to pen down a heartfelt tribute.
He posted a blast from the past, a picture of he and Burt on the set of the classic film, captioning it as, “To my Dear Friend, BURT YOUNG, you were an incredible man’s and artist, I and the World will miss you very much...RIP.
Many other fans extended their condolences, “Rest in peace, Burt Young... He was a great man, this is so sad…” a user shared .
While the other user kept it simple with, “RIP Paulie [red heart emoji]”.
Born as Gerald Tommaso DeLouise , famously known as Burt Young, enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood starring in over 160 films and television projects.
Burts young's credited first role was in 1970 film, Carnival Of Blood, where he played the role of Gimpy.
According to the official IMDB page, one of Young’s earliest roles was in 1969 when he starred in the television series called The Doctors, where he played an uncredited role as a bartender.
He is also widely acclaimed for his work in films such as Chinatown released in 1974 and Once Upon A time In America 1984.
However he found fame when he donned the role of Paulie, the brother of Adrian, played by Talia Shire, in six of the Rocky movies.
