Are Barbie, Taylor Swift, and Beyonce the reasons for rise in divorce?

Laura Wasser, renowned celebrity divorce lawyer, suggested the record-breaking Barbie, as well as tours from Taylor Swift and Beyonce, might be the driving factors of the surging divorces.

Wasser has got some big names under her clientele. To name a few, her A-list client names include Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, and Kevin Costner among others.

The 55-year-old lawyer revealed to Cosmopolitan that she believes the latest pop culture colossus be linked to many recent breakups.

"Something going on with a lot of my clients, and what I'm seeing here in Southern California is that we're in the middle of one of the worst strikes in history for the writers and the actors," said Wasser, "So you've also got people who have more time on their hands."

"They're angry about our reproductive rights getting rolled back; they're feeling their power by going to see Barbie and Taylor and Beyoncé," she continued.

"And they're like, 'I don't need this. I'm the one making this money, and I'm not comfortable, not working, and have this spouse who's either also not working or never was working.'"

According to Forbes Advisor, about 7 out of 10 divorces are initiated by a woman.

Another article by Huffington Post made waves in August that showed Barbie viewers claimed they broke up with their boyfriends after watching the movie.

Swift, 33, is bringing her Eras Tour concert film to movie theaters next month, while, Beyoncé, 42, is unstoppable with her Renaissance World Tour.

As for Barbie, the comedy-fantasy film continues to break records on the streaming charts at home after becoming the highest-grossing movie of the year with over $1 billion at the global box office.
