Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s nanny died following a fatal car accident.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a 55-year-old woman had been reported a victim of a fatal traffic collision last week, who was the nanny of the couple’s 2-year-old son, Rennie Foster, confirmed via TMZ.
On Wednesday, August 9, an 84-year-old woman lost control of her Toyota RAV4, crashing it into the Hamer Toyota dealership service center in Mission Hills, California, where the nanny was present as a customer.
Two employees of the center also sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital as a result.
Rennie’s nanny was the only victim of the accident, who was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
The update comes after McPhee announced her departure from her Hitman Tour with Foster last Friday, citing a “horrible tragedy.”
"It's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run,” she wrote on Instagram.
"David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family,” the American Idol alum added.
