Lizzo's dance captain Shirlene Quigley is proud of her actions.
Following lawsuit allegations of trying to convert dancers to Christianity, Lizzo's dance captain Shirlene Quigley posted a thank-you message on Instagram on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old made a lengthy post that ended with the phrase "Glory to God."
"Glory to God. I just want to remind you that he is love. He is truth, he is the light. he is the first and the last," she wrote. "All things work together for those that are called together according to his purpose."
Shirlene's post in full said:
“Hey everybody. God is so so good. God loves you so so so so so so so much. No matter what you're going through. Even if you don't love him, he loves you. Glory to God. I just want to remind you that he is love, He is truth, he is the light. He is the first and the last. All things work together for those that are called together according to his purpose. I just feel so blessed. I feel so thankful. I feel so full of joy. I had an amazing time on tour with amazing people. And I'm so excited to be home resting with my family and my dog after an amazing experience.”
As news broke that three of Lizzo's former backup dancers were suing the singer for sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment, Shirlene's name was brought up.
The dancers said the pop artist, whose actual name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, made comments about their weight and pressured one of them to touch a performer in a strip club.
Shirlene is accused of disparaging people who had extramarital sex and pushing her Christian ideas on other performers, according to the lawsuit.
Additionally, she is charged with exchanging filthy sexual fantasies, performing oral sex, and discussing the virginity of one performer.
The lawsuit is silent on whether Lizzo was aware of Quigley's allegedly inappropriate behaviour, according to NBC News.
However, according to their attorney Ron Zambrano, the plaintiffs, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, think she was aware of the accusations made against Shirlene.
