Sofia Vergara displayed some heavy emotions during the latest round of auditions on America’s Got Talent on Tuesday.

When Brazilian singer Gabriel Henrique showed up on stage, he was accompanied by a translator due to his mediocre command of English. However, despite the language barrier, he swept away judges – Vergara, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel – with his personable personality.

"[This is] my first time here in the United States," Gabriel shared, via his translator, "and I'm just realizing a dream to be here to sing for you guys."

After taking a few moments to calm his nerves, Gabriel belted out a rendition of Run to You by Whitney Houston, bringing the Modern Family alum to tears.

As Vergara struggled to gain her composure following the performance, Heidi showered him with praise, proclaiming, "If Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey had a baby, it would be Gabriel."

"I did not expect that voice to come out of you," Howie shared. "You sound like the best and finest pop diva there ever was."

"Gabriel, people are going to really like you," Simon marvelled. "You're just so interesting. I can tell that you've sung in church, and you don't know how good you are. It was amazing."

In the end, Vergara culminated the panel’s final verdict by slamming the Golden Buzzer even before the judges could press on their respective votes for Yes.

"That was so perfect, spectacular. Your voice is beautiful. Your energy, who you are. It was, like, perfect," Sofia said. "Because you are here, every time as a judge, waiting for that feeling, and that was what I was waiting for, you know? Something very beautiful and very heartfelt."
