Natasha Lyonne is thanking Paul Reuben.

Following the early Monday morning announcement of Paul Reubens' passing, Natasha Lyonne paid tribute to her friend and former co-star.

The actor passed away on Sunday night. He was best known for playing the classic Pee-wee Herman. He was 70.

Cancer was the cause of death, according to a statement sent to The Post.

"Love you so much, Paul," Lyonne tweeted today. "One in all time. Thank you for my career & your forever friendship all these years & for teaching us what a true original is."

Six episodes of Season 1 of "Pee-wee's Playhouse," which aired on CBS Saturday mornings from 1986 to 1990, featured Lyonne as the character of Opal.

Later on, the actress would play major roles in a number of TV shows and motion pictures, including "But I'm a Cheerleader," "Orange is the New Black," "Russian Doll," and "Poker Face."

Lyonne later shared another throwback photo of a black-and-white picture of their college days together.

She wrote, "Paul and I first met in 1973 at Cal Arts. We remained friends for the next 50 years. Not day to day."

She added, "Just the kind of friend that you can text out of nowhere or have a 3 hour lunch with. And don't get me started on the birthday texts-he sent them ALL DAY. I feel sick."
