Jeremy Renner is making progress.
At Kate Beckinsale's birthday celebration on Sunday, 52-year-old actor Jeremy Renner walked with the assistance of Casey Affleck. The Hawkeye star has been seen walking with a cane following his snow plough accident in January. He co-starred with Affleck, 47, in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Renner, though, was able to move around the event without much assistance from his pal.
Renner grinned broadly and appeared to be having a good time honouring Beckinsale's 50th birthday.
Renner frequently uses a cane to get around Hollywood after sustaining more than 30 fractured bones and requiring numerous operations. The actor attended the Disney+ design series Rennervations red carpet premiere in April. His left hand was holding the hand of his daughter, Ava Berlin Renner, 10, and his right hand was holding the cane.
Prior to that, Renner appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the first time since the accident and flaunted his cane throughout the conversation. Renner moved across Jimmy Kimmel's stage while supporting himself with his cane.
The Avengers star was injured in a snow plough accident on New Year's Day, and his agent later stated that he was in "critical but stable condition."
His neighbours would later describe seeing the accident take place to Diane Sawyer. "It was a horrible sound to listen to someone, just literally watching somebody die in front of you, and you feel so helpless," Barb Fletcher, one of Renner's neighbours, said in ABC's Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview — A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph special.
