Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock spark dating rumours: Here's the truth

Dating speculations between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have existed since the release of their 1994 film Speed, owing to the sizzling chemistry between the characters.

Despite popular belief and mutual yearning, the pair have never dated, but to date remain good friends.

Back in 2021, the Bird Box actress reflected on the prospect of dating Reeves in an interview with Esquire for a cover story on the actor, with disappointment implicit in her quotes.

"Keanu's a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he's ever dated. I don't think there's anyone who has something horrible to say about him," Bullock said.

"When I first met him, I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable," she explained. "And the more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get. And I thought, I don't understand what's happening! He's looking at me with eyes of confusion. He's quiet. Did I say something to offend him?"

"And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, 'I thought about what you said.' And he would have his response," the actress added.

For the unversed, Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves have confessed to their crushes on each other while they were filming Speed together, in separate interviews with Ellen DeGeneres on her eponymous show.

"I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves was and how handsome he was," she told DeGeneres in 2018. "It was hard for me to really be serious. He would look at me and I'd be like [giggles]."

When Reeves was asked whether he was aware of Bullock’s crush on him, he said, "No. She obviously didn't know I had a crush on her either."

Keanu Reeves is currently dating her author girlfriend Alexandra Grant. Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is in a relationship with Bryan Randall.
