Francia Raísa shares TRUTH about 'beef' with Selena Gomez

Francia Raísa and Selena Gomez might still be BFFs.

Francia confirmed to TMZ on July 27 that "There's no beef, guys" after originally laughing off a query about her relationship with the "Wolves" singer.

The How I Met Your Father star's remarks were made a day after she celebrated her 35th birthday by posting a cute Instagram carousel of herself and Francia over the years.

"Happiest of birthdays to this special human being," she wished Francia, who donated a kidney to her in 2017. "No matter where life takes us, I love you."

Francia responded by liking the post. She later told TMZ, without mentioning Selena, "I got so many great birthday messages. I really, really appreciate everyone. Yeah, you know, it's a new year."

When the Only Murders in the Building actress told Rolling Stone that Taylor Swift is her "only friend in the industry," rumours of a falling out between Selena and Francia surfaced last November. Francia left a since-deleted comment on the quote's Instagram post from E! News saying, "Interesting."

Then, a fan speculated about a potential breakup between the friends, which prompted Selena to write on TikTok, "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know." Months later, in May 2023, Francia told TMZ that the claimed controversy had led to her "being bullied" online. She added, "It's not good at all. It's not fun either."

In a March episode of Apple TV+'s docuseries Dear, Selena—who was given a lupus diagnosis in 2014—discussed her relationship with the actress in light of the accusations swirling around.

"I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia," she said. "The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming."
