Rosalía is clarifying the situation between herself and Rauw Alejandro.
The Con Altura singer, 30, addressed the news in a statement posted on her Instagram Story days after People magazine confirmed the musicians split after more than three years of dating.
"I love, respect, and admire Rauw. I'm not paying attention to the movies. We know what we lived. This is not an easy moment, so thank you all for understanding and respecting," she wrote in Spanish.
The remark was posted with a blue background and a white heart emoji at the end.
The singer's emotional performance of her song Hentai at Lollapalooza Paris last Saturday and the publication of the Thursday letter occurred close together. Videos taken by fans during the performance showed her wiping her eyes while she played the song on the piano, pausing occasionally to gather herself. Eventually, the audience assisted Rosalía in finishing the song, and she grinned.
In a statement sent to his Twitter account on Wednesday, Alejandro, 30, previously opened up about their breakup.
"Yes, a few months ago Rosi and I ended our engagement," he wrote. "There are thousands of problems that can cause a break, but in our case, it was not the fault of third parties or infidelity. During this space that I am taking to absorb all of this, erroneous public allegations have emerged."
The Toda singer continued, "And for the respect that I have for her, for our families, and for everything we lived, I I could not remain silent and continue watching how they try to destroy the truest love story that God has allowed me to live."
Initially connected in August 2021, Rosalía and Alejandro made their relationship public online the following month. They declared their engagement in the music video for the song Beso from their collaborative EP RR in March.
