Joker 2' cinematographer reveals 'Never met real Lady Gaga on set'

Lawrence Sher, the cinematographer known for his work on Joker, recently shared insights about his experience on the set of the sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux. 

During a conversation on The Trenches Talk podcast, Sher revealed a surprising aspect of his time on set - he never actually met Lady Gaga, who stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn in the 2024 comic book movie.

According to Sher, Gaga seemed to immerse herself entirely in her character throughout filming, leading to minimal personal interaction. 

Even during makeup and hair tests, he felt a sense of distance, leaving him wondering if there was an underlying tension between them. 

However, a fascinating turning point occurred when he began addressing Gaga by the name "Lee," likely a reference to her character's alter ego, Harley. 

This small gesture seemed to break the ice, as Gaga gradually warmed up to him. Sher admitted that the situation had left him perplexed, but eventually, a rapport formed between the two professionals.

Joker 2 details are still shrouded in mystery. Described as a drama with musical elements set in and around Arkham Asylum, the film boasts an impressive supporting cast, including Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. 

With Joker becoming a global box office sensation, grossing over $1 billion worldwide and earning numerous accolades, including 11 Oscar nominations, the expectations for its sequel are sky-high. 

Margot Robbie, the first actor to portray Harley Quinn in live-action, expressed her support for Lady Gaga stepping into the shoes of this beloved character.
