Blackpink's Jennie Kim, known for her mesmerizing performances, has addressed past criticism from K-pop fans who accused her of being "lazy" or "unable to deliver" her choreography.
In a conversation on Dua Lipa's At Your Service podcast, Jennie revealed that she had struggled with injuries during Blackpink's early days, which affected her ability to control her body as she wanted.
Reflecting on that period, Jennie shared, "I did not know how to control my body the way I should."
Jennie admitted that compared to the other members of Blackpink, she would often find herself getting injured during performances and live shows.
Dealing with constant physical setbacks became a significant source of stress in her life, leaving her feeling disappointed in herself when it seemed like she couldn't give her best.
Despite her flawless appearance to the untrained eye, she knew the challenges she faced behind the scenes.
She has acknowledged the criticisms she faced in the past, emphasizing that she has been actively working on her physical health since 2020.
Jennie shared, "I've learned to take care of my body. And I've learned a lot about myself, with my health and how my muscles work, even how bendy I am with my arms."
Every aspect of her physical well-being has received careful attention and consideration, as she has devoted time to understanding her body on a deeper level.
"My feet aren't built for it." Jennie further revealed that dancing in heels becomes even more challenging when she is traveling and experiences bloated feet, leading to a decrease in stamina," the singer candidly explained.
