Rob Brydon credits Margot Robbie for landing role in 'Barbie'

Rob Brydon disclosed Margot Robbie's love for his Gavin and Stacey character, Uncle Bryn, may have played a role in his casting for the upcoming Barbie movie.

The 58-year-old actor, known for his portrayal of the lovable Uncle Bryn in the beloved BBC series, discovered that Margot Robbie, the leading actress in the film, is a devoted fan of his character. 

During a recent appearance on Virgin Radio, Brydon shared the story, recalling how he received a message a few years ago requesting a birthday video for Margot Robbie, who expressed her fandom for Bryn. 

The actor happily obliged and recorded a special message for her. 

Now, he speculates that his part in the movie could be Margot's way of showing her appreciation.

Looking dapper in a blue suit and white shirt, Rob Brydon attended the London premiere of Barbie on Wednesday night. 

Brydon recounted meeting Robbie on set, where he playfully greeted her, saying, "Hello Margot. I've loved you in all your films, and I'll tell you for why..." 

Their encounter brought a smile to both their faces, as Robbie expressed her gratitude for the special message Brydon had previously recorded for her.

Robbie, alongside other cast members including Ryan Gosling as Ken, has embarked on a global press tour to promote the film. 

The tour has taken them to countries such as Australia, South Korea, and Mexico, building excitement for the upcoming release.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, known for her acclaimed films Little Women (2019) and Lady Bird (2017), the Barbie movie also sees Gerwig co-writing the screenplay with Noah Baumbach.
